Just Another Day in Paradise

A quick update, but an update nonetheless.

Since I have a camera with issues galore, I have been unable to post the photos that I’ve taken over my first six weeks in Hawai’i. Fortunately, for those interested in seeing where I’m living, my friend Katie is visiting from Oregon this week and is kindly allowing me to share some of her photos. Enjoy!ImageOne of many sunsets I have plopped my butt down on the rocks to enjoy.

On our return walk from a beach it began to rain. In true rural Hawaiian style, the first truck to pass by offered us a ride…in the back of the truck…in the rain. It was still appreciated.

We hung out on the beach for the day yesterday. Here you can see the island of Maui behind us. We went snorkeling a few times throughout the day. Salt water tastes terrible, but it was worth it to see a whole different world just beneath the surface.

I suppose that is all I have for now, but as always, I have fallen behind on this blog and will try to maintain it better in the days and weeks to come. For now, I do believe Hawai’i is doing what I need it to do, chilling me ouuuut.

All the best,

  1. After Nome & Africa you certainly deserve to veg out a bit. You have an especially wonderful place to do that in. Loved the pictures and am so very envious – snorkeling in Hawaii. Try to talk Emily into a visit. She desperately deserves a break as well.

  2. It looks lovely there. How is where you are living? Did you get any work?
Sunny here on Kiawah, but cool. Promises to be more like Hawaii this weekend!
Your Dad and siblings are at the Mountain House to celebrate Amy’s 50th (belatedly). Beth and all the family will be here in a week. Can’t wait. Think about you and pray for you all the time.
